AI Popups

AI Popups automatically generate rich, contextual summaries when a user clicks on a map feature — no manual popup configuration needed.

Enabling AI Popups

  1. Select a layer in the Layers panel.
  2. Open the layer menu and select Popup Settings.
  3. Toggle AI Popups on.

When a user clicks a feature on that layer, Owl AI reads the feature's attributes and nearby context, then generates a human-readable summary in the popup.

What AI Popups Include

  • A plain-language summary of the feature's key attributes
  • Contextual information based on nearby features (e.g., "This parcel is 200m from the nearest park and within the downtown zoning district")
  • Suggested actions based on the data type (e.g., "View property details" or "Calculate route")

Customizing AI Popups

You can customize what the AI includes by editing the popup prompt template in the layer settings. For example, you might instruct the AI to always include the feature's address, owner name, and assessed value, while ignoring internal IDs.

Fallback Behavior

If Owl AI is unavailable or the user has exceeded their monthly limit, popups fall back to the standard attribute table display.
