--- path: docs/getting-started/your-workspace title: "Your Workspace" desc: "Organize maps, data, and team members in your GISOwl workspace." date: "Apr 2, 2026" --- # Your Workspace Your GISOwl workspace is the home base for all your maps, data, and team collaboration. ## Dashboard When you log in, you land on the workspace dashboard. Here you can see all your maps organized by recent activity, along with shared maps from your team. Use the search bar to find maps by name or description. ## Projects Group related maps into projects. Projects act as folders with their own sharing settings — everyone in a project can see all maps within it. To create a project, click **New Project** on the dashboard, give it a name and optional description, then drag maps into it. ## Data Library The data library stores uploaded datasets independently from individual maps. This lets you reuse the same dataset across multiple maps without duplicating it. When the source data updates, every map referencing it reflects the changes. ## Templates Save any map as a template so your team can spin up new maps with consistent styling, basemap settings, and layer configurations. Templates are accessible from the **New Map** menu. ## Workspace Settings Access settings from the gear icon in the sidebar. Here you can configure: - Workspace name and logo - Default basemap - Default projection (Web Mercator, WGS 84, or custom) - Data retention policies - API key management ## Plans GISOwl offers a free tier with up to 3 editors and 100 MB of storage. Paid plans unlock unlimited editors, larger storage, cloud data connections, SSO, and priority support. See [Billing](/docs/administration/billing) for details.
